I have always found intrinsic value in the celebration of nature.  For myself, there is a transcendent power in the layers of landscape and all things wild.  In my attempt to capture and cultivate an admiration for the natural world, I have been creating mixed media paintings that show the relationship between humans and the environment. Reflective writing and coined phrases have recently entered my work and play an important part in the story of each piece.  The writing becomes part of the piece and is influenced by a variety of experiences, cultures, and significant people in my life.  Most of my art is an insightful process in which I use multiple layers of color, media, and writing to depict events or people-some a bit serious others with a zany or capricious twist to them.
