AMSA represents over 68,000 premedical and medical students and practicing physicians from across the  United States.  Our organization is particularly proud of being student-driven, student-governed and motivated to actively educate students interested in medicine.  Specifically, AMSA’s members are involved in the social and ethical concerns of modern health care.

The real heart of AMSA is its action committees. By promoting participation in these committees, we strive to enhance premedical education through community involvement, health care advocacy, and global health action. You will find yourself lobbying at the state or national capitol, empowering the community to take action on the malaria epidemic, engaging with doctors and medical students, attending national and regional AMSA conferences, learning to prepare for medical school applications, and enjoying fun nights and BBQs with your fellow AMSA members.

After all, it takes more than medical school to make a physician.

Our Action Committees:

  • Community & Environmental Health
  • Global Health Legislative
  • Legislative
  • Pre-Medical Education
  • Membership & Community Engagement
