New balls!
New balls!
Here's a funny story I gleaned from a local chap who wanted to show me his favourite building...The Lions Building. He said that years ago the local builders, Pollards were employed to 'make good' and restore.....The Lion's BALLS! "I said, pardon me, did you say, BALLS?" and he replied..."yes...balls..GONADS!" Ha ha! Some local drunks had apparently broken them off! Well of course I had to go and take a closer inspection of the said Lion's balls....and for your information...I couldn't see the join...a fine set, me thinks!!!! :¬) For other more cultural reasons this is regarded as the best historic building in Bridgwater. It was constructed in the 'Provincial Baroque' style about 1730 by Benjamin Holloway the architect who also built Castle Street. This is probably the finest architect designed building in Bridgwater
Sunset in a Ball
Sunset in a Ball
This metal ball has some sort of connection to the bridge so that all the vibrations from the bridge turn into these eerie sounds coming out of this ball. Strange. I took this a little while ago but forgot to upload it.
