At our recent meeting in Virginia we decided to move forward on revising the American Oystercatcher Birds of North America species account under the authorship of the American Oystercatcher Working Group.  Erica Nol has generously agreed to assist in revising the account that she and Bob Humphrey published in 1994.  Before you can open some of the content on this site you will have to establish a Google account.  If you do not have a Google account, click on any of the BNA sections on the left side of the this page and you will be prompted to establish a Google account.  Remember the email address you give (any valid email address will work) when you register because you will use this email address and the password you establish for your Google account when you log into the site in the future.   Please spend some time on the site, and take a look at the account sections.  Think about what section(s) you want to work on, and let me know if you have suggestions for improving the site, or have ideas to share with the other contributors.  If you want to contribute to a section revision, please let me know by email (tsimons@ncsu.edu) and send me a picture and contact information that I can add to the contributor's page.  Once most of the sections are assigned I will make the site private so contributors can log in and begin modifying their section(s).  Ruth Boettcher, Eric Nol, and I are looking forward to working with all of you on this effort.  Ted
