Mother rabbit is in a rocking chair with two rabbits on her lap. Written on the back of the box…. “In Beatrix Potter’s most famous book of all, “The tale of Peter Rabbit”. Peter disobeys his mother and goes into Mr. McGregor’s garden to eat the vegetables. In the ensuing chase Peter loses his clothes and only just escapes capture, arriving home exhausted and not very well. While his brothers and sisters have bread and milk and blackberries for supper, Peter is put to be with a dose of camomile tea.” This lovely plaque measure 7” high and 6” across the bottom. It is finished with a thick glaze and in excellent condition. The plaque is like new and was well wrapped in the original box. It has no chips, nicks, cracks or crazing. The box is a bit dented in one corner and there is a small puncture in the top, otherwise it is quite nice. . This would make a wonderful Christmas gift for a child’s room or the collector. . Large ceramic or plaster(?) wall hanging in relief, cream with gold painted accenting. A seaside village climbs a hill, boats and seagulls in foreground. Large 11 1/4" across, unmarked piece, has imbedded wire for hanging, weighs about 3 pounds without packaging. Very pretty, would look perfect in country French or Italian decor theme.
