Service to the Department
During the 09-10 academic year, I co-organized the STOR department's internal speaker series with Andrey Shabalin.  During the 10-11 academic year, I co-organized the same series with Jessi Cisewski.

I have contributed to a number of departmental events, such as organizing the department picnic in 2010, participating in orientation as a student representative in 2010 and 2011, and hosting prospective Ph.D. students during the admitted students day.

Service at UNC
I currently serve as the Treasurer of the Graduate and Professional Students Federation (GPSF), which is a student government, student life, and advocacy organization representing graduate and professional students in all degree programs.

Previously, I have served as a representative to the UNC Student Congress and GPSF Senate.

I am a member of the Student Fee Audit Committee (GPSF at-large appointee 10-11, ex officio 11-12) and the Student Fee Advisory Subcommittee (11-12) and I have pushed to ensure that units receiving fee revenue from graduate and professional students are serving the needs of the graduate and professional student population.
