Lily is my 3 year old Grand daughter, she likes the puppies, the puppies like her but she doesn't want to play with all of them at once, she prefers to interact from outside the pen!

Puppies in a Box!

Next week I hope to do full body pictures, CANNOT do that alone! ; )

(L to R)Blue, Lavendar, No Collar, Pink, (bottom row) Red and Yellow

Being in a box wasn't their favorite but they were cute.  Some just didn't want to show their whole cute face.  They are quite adorable, playing and GROWING!!  Faith, thankfully, continues to be a great Mom!

THE FIRST THREE ARE HERE!!

pink collar girl, blue collar boy and red collar girl

whelped between 10 and 12   PM

Three more on the way!

Last night's temp was 100.7, this morning 100.3, heading in the right direction!  She's still relaxed and comfy and hasn't stopped eating, so whelping isn't imminent but we'll have puppies soon!

Yesterday's x-ray showed  6 little puppets!!!

Sometimes a Mom just has to put her feet up.                11:30 AM July 28 just hanging out waiting ; )

July 26, 2009

Nice normal temp, as of 1:30 this afternoon. She jumped on to the grooming table, NOT something I encourage! She is back to running up and down the stairs while waiting for Angel, Finn and I to come down. She still spins, spins, spins from her pin to the stairs to go out. ; )

Appetite is still normal. She really likes the dried chicken strips.

I'm not even sure she'll have 6 puppies, I'm leaning toward 5 unless they are smallish. The puppies, at least two of them, are still moving a lot and seem to still be more toward her head than beginning the "Line up". I may call my vet in the morning and see if we can get in for a quick x ray tomorrow.

If I can get her to stand, sit or lie down long enough, I'll take her picture later today!

Are Expecting!!

Puppies are due July 28th or 29th

PHANTOMFAITH

Ch Liswyn's The Music Of The Night                     Ch Amethyst Trouble With Angels, CGC

Faith  was whelped on November 17, 2003, out of Ch Avatar's Something Sinful, CD (Angel) by Ch Nureyev VT Belgisch Schoon (Holland)  Bred by Barbara L Trezza and Maria Baumann, she has a sweet personality and LOTS of energy.

Faith is OFA CHIC # 41561, BSD-3278G-28FPI, BSD-EL1022F28-PI, BSD-1768 CERF, 8-2-07(her eyes will be redone in the near future)

Phantom arrived in Texas on October 13, 2005.  He found his permanent, loving home with Carleen and Bill Wiles in December.  Phantom is a little more "laid back" than Faith so we're hoping for a little less "zoom zoom" in this litter than that which appeared in her first puppies.  ; )

Phantom was bred by Lisa Leffingwell by Ch Liswyn's Professor Pi, CDX out of Ch Liswyn's Licorice

Phantom is BSD-EL1248M30, normal; BSD-Th159/30M, normal; BSD-1838N(Cerf, 5-16-08), BSD-3534G31M, Good

This is Faith's second litter.  She already has one Champion from that litter and three others waiting for their owners to have time to show.  Phantom is a first time sire.

This will be my last litter in New Jersey as plans are underway for a move to Georgia in 2010.

MEMORIES

 Lorjen Gunsmoke, Am/Can CDX, HT(tested 1987)

"Smoke" was my first Belgian sheepdog.  Whelped on November 3, 1983, she taught me much about dogs and Belgians.  She left on May 3, 1996 while we were at the Belgian Sheepdog Club of America's National Specialty.  Smoke was my "heart" dog and I miss her still!  "Smoke" was bred by Maxine and Roger Ellis

American/Canadian Champion

Johnsondale's Royal Amethyst,

American/Canadian CDX

Above  left, Twink is shown at 12 weeks at her first Match show, above right,at about 3 years as a Special and lower, center,

with Fred who was BOS to her BOB.

Next to arrive was "Twink".  Whelped on December 14, 1988, her breeder was Pat Johnson, Johnsondale Kennels, she arrived from Ohio in New Jersey on Valentine's Day, 1989.  Twink was destined to become my first Conformation Champion and the Dam of my first Homebred Champion.

Twink knew from day one that she was a "show girl".  Obedience wasn't worth her time and it took considerable patience(mine NOT hers) to earn those CDXs. Twink was just plaine cute!      She was a real grinner, often running across the training room wagging her whole body and showing every tooth in her mouth when she saw a friend.

Shortly before her 7th birthday, Twink left due to kidney failure.

Her Twinkle never left!

Am/Can Ch Amethyst Honor Thy Father, Am CDX, Can CD

Fred at 12 weeks

My first litter, by Ch Lorjen High Honors, CD out of Ch Johnsondale's Royal Amethyst, CDX, was whelped on April 8, 1991.  The blue collar boy(it was a litter of 5 boys) was special from the moment he was born.  He wasn't even completely outside his dam when he started nursing.  Getting "Fred" to eat was never a problem.  Even when there were three bitches in season he never missed a meal.

Fred with Twink and Smoke, August 1992

Fred was a big boy, 26.5" at the shoulder and SQUARE.  He finished his Am Ch easily.  He finished his Canadian Championship by going Group 2 from the classes.  Freddie placed in the group several times at home but I think the most exciting moment was when he and his mother BOTH earned AOMs at the 1993 BSCA National Specialty.

Fred in the Veteran's class at the BSCA National, April, 2002

On August 2, 2005, the laryngeal paralysis that had been diagnosed two years before made it too difficult for him to breath and we made that final trip to the vet.

Ch Char-Ma's Guilty As Sin, CD

"Cammie"  was bred by Charlene Mascuch, Char-Ma Belgians in March of 1994.  She came home with me for socialization at 12 weeks.  12 years later, in August of 2005, she left.

It was always a fun ride with "Cammie"!  She became the mother of my 2nd homebred Champion when she was bred to Ch Sumerwynd Capi Du Monte.  That litter arrived in July of 1998.

Well loved but living elsewhere

Ch Amethyst Summer Sin At Char-Ma

Brooke, shown above, in June of 2007

"Brooke" was the second Champion bred here at Amehtyst.  She was a demanding show girl, who needed your undivided attention when being shown.  She was BOB over Specials from the classes several times and earned a Group 2 before finishing her Championship.  Brooke retired to Pennsylvania, where she is the constant companion of her best friend, Betty.

Amethyst No Longer An Angel

"Nola"

Showing her true colors here, Nola is a couch potato and snuggler.  That "show dog" stuff isn't her cup of tea.  Nola now lives with Laurie and Norman and as you can see, it very content!  (I guess the NO Dogs On The Furniture rule didnt' apply to ms. nola!)  ; )

  Amethyst Stanley

"Stanley"

Nicha is one of Nola's daughters.  As you can see she take after her Mother.  ; )

Kipp, Prize and Stanley (above, left and right and lower) are  Nola's (Amethyst No Longer An Angel) sons.  They were three of ten puppies whelped here on July 7, 2007.  Kipp has found Rally Obedience very much to his liking and I understand he's working toward an AKC Obedience debut in the near future!  Prize is working on AKC Obedience and Conformation and will also be shown in Rally.  Stanley thinks running the household is his own personal niche.

THE CURRENT CREW

Ch Avatar Something Sinful, CD, RN

Angel, shown above on the left at 13 months and on the right at 5 years.

November 3, 1996 brought Avatar's Something Sinful into the world and into my heart.  Angel was born on Smoke's thirteenth birthday.  Just like Smoke, she came home on December 26th.  She was and continues to be a far more outgoing dog than Smoke.  She initially didn't like the Conformation Ring.  We trained for Novice Obedience and after earning her CD, we tried the breed ring again.  Her first time back in the ring, Angel earned a Three point major.  She became my "American Girl", earning all her points from the American Bred Class.  I injured my ankle and was unable to finish her Championship myself, but Patty Vellegas stepped in at the Trenton Show and took her to WB.  Her final win came at Monmouth County KC, with Jane Hobson on the other end of the lead.

Angel was bred by Barbara Swisher and Kathy and Jim Herman.  She's out of Ch Avatar's Viva of Chez les Bel, CDX by Ch Bayview Itza Queen's Game, UD(and many, many other titles).

When Angel was bred to Ch Nuryev VT Belgisch Schoon, in 2003 and 2004, she produced a total of 11 puppies, 8 girls and 3 boys.  Faith, one of the girls, was a group placer at 7 months.  Finn, earned both majors in one weekend.  Nola, another sister, isn't a fan of Conformation showing but we'll try again in 2008.  Faith and Ch Zulke de Terres Bergeres produced the first of the next generation at Amethyst in June and Nola and Finn added to the "puppy population" in July.

CH Amethyst Last Dance

"Finn"

Finn Placing in the Bred By Exhibitor Group and "Just Finn" (taken by Mary Grace Buckwalter)

Finn is full, younger brother to Faith.  He's a fun boy who finished his Championship from the Bred By Exhibitor class.  He's a good sized male, about 26" at the shoulder and as sweet as can be.  He will seek out "special" people and allow them to handle him any way they can.  He loves children and is very gentle with them.  He has OFA good hips, normal elbows and normal eyes.

Faith with her new charge, the lovely Madison, Maria's first Grand daughter!(l)

Faith, New Champion with handler Mike Reed(r)

Faith was whelped on November 17, 2003, out of Angel by Holland.  There were five girls in the litter.  I wanted a BOY!  A friend wanted a Belgian, so our "Pick" girl went home with her.  Faith was the "white collar"girl.  Her Puppy Aptitude Test blew me away!  NOTHING stopped her, after the test was over and the other puppies were resting, Faith was pushing to do more and to get someone to play with her.  Four years later, she's still the same.  A happy busy girl who rules the Gordon Setters and the Boxer she lives with.  Her health clearances are listed at the beginning of the web page.

Faith was bred to Ch Zulke de Trebreges and produced a beautiful litter of seven on June 13, 2007.  The five girls and two boys are happily tormenting their new owners.
