DIY: The Mac in the Stone Behold! The Legendary Mac in the Stone! Er, well, the Mac in the black high-density foam. At my job, we receive servers covered in more high density dark-grey foam packing than we know what to do with. At home, I've started to connect my laptop to an external monitor and keyboard. I've been leaning it up against a nearby wall, and it falls over too easily. So looked online for a Mac docking stand and found some ridiculous stands for $300, nice stands for $45, and some DIY aluminum stands for $8... But free and unique is always nice. I intended to make a simple monolithic brick with a simple fitted slot. When I was done, it was perfect, but way boring. So I started cutting the corners... but I cut them kinda crooked. Looked more like a rock. Hey, why not make it look more like a rock then? So a few minutes and foam shavings later, here's my 'Mac in the Stone' stand! Perfectly sturdy, and much better than leaning it up against a wall ...or $300. Note on functionality: While in use, I actually flip it upside down so the vents point up and all the ports are accessible. Uh... and I have to take it out to insert a CD. But as a display stand, I've already gotten some 'Whoa cool!' remarks from some co-workers . ^_^ Possess ye thy strength what for to removeth yon Macbooketh? It is stuck in there pretty good. I was surprised. 10 Things I Like About Homeschooling
I’m a homeschooler. Never been to any educational institution so far. The closest thing I’ve been to a school was last year, when I worked as a kindergarten teacher for a few months (didn’t like it, so I quit). I’m supposed to have finished my education and graduated from university by now. But I’m not in a hurry! Homeschooling had its ups and downs. But from my experience, I think the advantages are more. So here are the 10 things I like (or liked) about homeschooling :) 1- Not having to study physics and social studies!! 2- Not having my brain stuffed with information I’ll eventually forget 3- Watching other students agonize over exams, while I’m just chillin’! 4- Going to amusement parks on Mondays, and not having to stand for hours waiting for a ride :D 5- Making spontaneous trips in the middle of the week 6- Being creative and unique 7- Not having to suffer peer pressure or become a victim of bullying 8- Having an independent opinion and not being a slave to what’s “in” 9- Having enough time to discover my talents 10- Having a chance to develop my personality without any pressures Would love to hear your opinion :) See also: hyd oil cooler smirnoff ice wine coolers cooler master hyper n520 mini ice chest cheap air coolers 200 bottle wine cooler beer coolers for bars |
