Marvel Fab Ms. Marvel costume. It's so completely professional-looking. I know that many costume-wearers are actual professional theatrical costume designers (working or aspiring). I continue to be amazed that someone on their own can produce a complicated costume that looks good enough to be an "official" character used for promotional appearances and whatnot. On the photo side: note the use of "the heroic angle." You see it in comics and in classical art going back centuries. People look more impressive when you shoot from a lower angle. When you shoot at eye level (or worse, when you're taller than the person you're photographing) it tends to diminish the subject. I kept this in mind all weekend. I also kept in mind: 1) Gosh, my Tactical Pants actually have flat pockets in the knees where you can slide in a set of pads. I wish I'd thought of that a week ago, in time to place an order. (owtch) 2) That when the subject is minimally-attired, the subject might get the wrong idea of why you're shooting from a lower angle. Fortunately, I really wasn't shooting anyone dressed that way and I certainly wasn't so low to the ground to invite unsavory speculation. Marvel Heights
