Burger King - Fire
Burger King - Fire
BURGER KING® Dublin In Flames Flame-grilling is the tastiest way to cook a burger restaurant. Almost every time I visit the city centre I come across the fire brigade in action. Today the fire was in Grafton Street. Unfortunately most of the action was over when I arrived outside BURGER KING®. Five units of the Dublin fire brigade fought the blaze that broke out in Burger King on Grafton street at around 2 O’Clock. According to the firemen at the scene no one was injured … I did not speak directly to any of them but I overheard one being interviewed. In 1954, James McLamore and David Edgerton opened their first BURGER KING® restaurant in Miami Florida, USA. They had a guiding principle of offering reasonably priced quality food, served quickly, in attractive, clean surroundings. The World was introduced to the signature flavour of the Original WHOPPER® Sandwich in 1957 In 1963, the first international franchise restaurant opened in Puerto Rico, and in 1981 the first Irish “Home of the WHOPPER®” opened on Grafton St, Dublin.

I first encountered the Mos Burger fast food chain in Taipei, Taiwan. Mos Burger is a Japan-based fast food chain (second only to McDonalds in Japan) with a Pacific Rim presence and flavoring. I never quite came to appreciate the sticky rice buns (technically rice, barley and millet) used for their burgers, but for foreigners traveling in Pacific Rim countries, it's worth a taste and also worth noting that McDonald's has imitated the rice bun to appeal to local tastes. Most Mos Burger franchises are indoors but this little hut is located on the National Taiwan University campus just inside the north gate across from the NTU Foreign Language Center housing the International Chinese Language Program (ICLP).
