Georgine Scott-Codiga, a forensic technician from the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, visted Grade 8 science classes on Wednesday, September 21. Ms. Scott-Codiga spoke with students about maintaining "chain of evidence" to support criminal detection and prosecution. She also discussed gathering latent fingerprints, interpretation of blood splatters, and crime scene investigation. Eighth graders have been studying forensic science as part of a unit focusing on the way scientists use objective evidence to prove an assertion.
