When looking at bloodlines, it is important to consider the entire pedigree. You may see a boar whose bloodline is listed as "Andrew", however, the genetics of two different "Andrew" boars may be very dissimilar depending upon the pedigree of the dam. For example: Andrew (Jenny) or Andrew (Wilsons Gina). In addition, imported pigs may have been given new bloodline names in honor of the importer and may or may not go back to the foundation pig of another bloodline of a different name. When listing bloodlines for any particular pig, it is always proper to list the sire's side first which is referred to as "on top" as in the placement on a pedigree. Buyers will NOT be allowed to register pigs. Beware of breeders who sell pigs earlier than the recommended age for weaning at 7 to 8 weeks of age. Federal regulations prohibit the shipment of animals under the age of 8 weeks. Kunekune Pigs do not need to be bottle fed for socialization or taming.
