*The standard for the Kunekune Pig breed in America has used both the New Zealand and British Standards as models.  The differences should be noted when showing outside of this country.

*When in the show ring, the Kunekune Pig shall have an overall appearance of good health being bright eyed, of reasonable body mass, not obese, and able to move with ease.

DESIRABLE TRAITS:

*HEAD - Broad with a dished face, short to medium snout (short preferred), teeth suitable for grazing [10 pts]

*EARS - Pricked or semi-lop (not obstructing vision) [5 pts]

*WATTLES - two, well formed and well attached, evenly placed [10 pts]

*NECK - short to medium, medium to heavy jowl [5 pts]

*BODY - shoulders level and in proportion to rump, chest moderately wide between the legs, well formed hams and in proportion to shoulders [10 pts]

*BACK - strong, level or slightly arched [10 pts]

*TAIL - set high, held in curl or straight (curled preferred) [5 pts]

*LEGS - straight, well set, short in proportion to length of body, pasterns short and springy [10 pts]

*FEET - strong, closed and even with consideration of pig's age and size [10 pts]

*SKIN & HAIR - healthy, coat of any color or texture [5 pts]

*SEXUAL CHARACTERISTICS - Female should have a feminine look to her, at least 10 evenly spaced teats/Male should exhibit masculine characteristics and have at least 10 evenly spaced teats [10 pts]

*TEMPERAMENT - placid/gentle in nature [10 pts]
