Or whats left of it! The rubble has be shifted around a bit, and some has been brought in, but there has been some here for years and there is a low wall at the back. The building which stood here may have started out life as a warehouse, but it became the girl's hostel. Girls from all over the country and the world lived here while working at Foster's mill. There were also three or four cottages, located just off the right of the photo, also now gone. My grandmother (she already lived in Queensbury) remembers the hostel being run by a Mrs Harvey, perhaps the 1930's?, she had a large dog called Toby which she dressed in a nightcap and nightshirt. My Grandmother and her friend used to ask to see Toby, who slept in a cot! The houses up on the hillside are Hillcrest Drive.
