Those that know me, know that I've been fighting issues with allergies with Phoebe for quite some time now. Approximately 2 1/2 years ago we were told it was eczema, then 2 years ago when she had facial swelling, we were told it was infected eczema. It has always been my gut instinct that it was allergies and not eczema. A chance remark from a friend about strawberries, led us to cutting strawberry from her diet and for the first time her skin was clear. However every now and then her skin would react again so we went to the doc's again and they referred us to the paed whom we saw on Thursday. Hoorah finally someone agreed that it sounded like an allergy and referred her to the specialist nurse for skin prick testing. We're waiting for that appointment to come through and then today she had another quite horrific outbreak, with facial swelling so we headed up to the hospital. They provided the assortment of antihistamine, steroid cream and antibiotics - thank goodness we don't pay for children's prescriptions! However the doctor also casually asked if there was any family history of lupus so now I'm worrying about that too, even though logically I know it's highly unlikely.

Being one of those effected by a mild nickel allergy I went to work to design goggles that had no metal parts. These lovely goggles will not clash with a lab coat or a fine leather trench coat. The goggles are hand crafted from reclaimed recycled soda plastic. The beads, lens, and lens frames are handmade by me. The large green beads are hand colored in a variety of shades of green and brown. The smaller beads and frames come from naturally brown plastic. The lens are attached to the frames with a bit of artificial sinew. There nose bridge can fleck to fit a variety of face styles. The band to go around the head is has elastic quality for easy removal. The lens are from naturally green plastic and have been edged in a darker green. ------- Please note these are not true safety goggles.
