Quirky? Perhaps. Informative?...perhaps.

Me making the most of graffiti. It's kind of hard to see, but I have a mustache drawn on my finger...and of course, an eye patch.
For a long time now I have wanted to become an educator at the third grade level. I recently graduated from high school, 2006 to be exact, and then earned my AAOT in 2007. Now, I am working on my Bachelor's Degree, and I am going to graduate next spring with a teaching license.
I am really looking forward to having my own classroom where I can have an impact on each of my students. Right now I have the opportunity to spend time in existing classrooms, where I observe teachers in different environments, and interact with students of different ages. I am really being able to learn from experienced teachers and pick and choose techniques and activities that they use, for my own class.
I feel that art is an important part of a child's learning process and fully intend to incorporate it into every lesson possible. Art helps to facilitate learning, but also encourages children to be creative and their own unique self. I think that it really solidifies the idea that everyone is different and that is what makes them special. As I mentioned before, art not only helps to broaden a child's imagination, but also helps them to learn the subjects that are associated with school. Allowing the kids to have another resource, or identify with another learning type is necessary for the success of every child.
