EREWHON REDUX or The Tea-Baggers' Lullaby A reposting of a shot from right before the 2008 presidential election. This an excerpt of the chapter titled "College of Unreason" from the book "Erewhon", written by Samuel Butler in 1872. It is a satire aimed at political and social hypocrisy--it tells the story of a contradictory fictitious country named Erewhon ( a nearly backward anagram of the word “nowhere“), in which everything is done in opposition to logic and reason. It just seemed necessary to post it again at this time. I suppose this is where many of the Tea-Bagging politicians and GOP received their "education" although I know Michelle Bachmann got her degree from Oral Roberts University (she has said that Obama doesn't have a good education--rather than going to Oral Roberts University, Obama had to settle for Harvard). Her husband, "Dr." Marcus Bachmann, claims to have a doctorate (an Internet mail-order degree) received at a time when a doctorate in psychology was not even offered by the company. His UN-licensed practice specializes in "curing" gay people. DISCLAIMER: I am not suggesting that Marcus Bachmann is gay but only commenting on the numerous speculations that he is gay. Today's Psychology class dealt about the future. Not in a positive way. Today we wrote our own eulogies for Psych class. OMG. WTF. OMG. WTF. It made me think in a fast-forward manner. It made me realize what needs to be realized. It made me see what was supposed to be seen. It made me feel what needs to be felt. In short, my life in thirty seconds. Although, one realization I had only one realization: That of all things that I aspired (success. doctorate degree, money, charity work) there was one single thing that made me happy in my "future" life. IT WAS LOVING SOMEONE. Then everything in my eulogy seemed to be complete, significant and priceless. Everything was fufilled. Everybody was satisifed. Everybody seemed jubilant.
