"The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider streets, but narrower viewpoints; we spend more, but have less; we buy more but enjoy it less. We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time; we have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgement; more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry too quickly, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life; We've added years to life, not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor. We've conquered outer space, but not inner space; We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul; we've split the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less; we plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait; we have higher incomes, but, lower morals. We build more computers to hold more information to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication; We've become long on quantity, but short on quality. These are the days of two incomes, but more divorce; of fancier houses, but broken homes. These are the days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throw away morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. Where are we heading ....?" (found one day on a stroll on the net) *made it to Explore #44, cheers guys

I got to take a few photos with a friend's infa-red filter on the weekend. They all came out a blood/raspberry red. I've sorta sepiad this one. End in sight for record South Australian heatwave 17/03/2008: The end is nigh for the current record-breaking heatwave that has been plaguing South Australians for the last fortnight, according to weatherzone.com.au. Temperatures once again soared up to 18 degrees above average across South Australia today, reaching the low 40s in many locations. Adelaide reached a maximum of 41 degrees at 3:40pm, making it the 15th consecutive day above 35 for the city, a record for any Australian capital city. "The good news is that relief is in sight. A southwesterly change will move through Adelaide tonight, dropping temperatures back into the mid 20s," weatherzone.com.au meteorologist Matt Pearce said. "We are still likely to see temperatures in the high 20s tomorrow but this will feel relatively pleasant compared to the scorching weather that the city has endured recently." Adelaide is currently sitting on an average maximum for March so far of 37 degrees, 11 above average. The city is now almost certain to come in with its hottest March on record. "Following tonight’s milder change, we will see temperatures in the mid to high 20s through the second half of the week. The warm weather will be back on the weekend, but temperatures will not be anywhere near as high as during the recent heatwave," Pearce said.
