POP UP BLOCKER
Pop up blockers are a good and bad idea. If you
use this utility you might miss out on the capability to download a
special feature on a website or be able to download files from the
Photon website for instance. Both the Yahoo and Google toolbar have the
option to block pop-ups. I think the Google toolbar is the better of
the two. But please be careful to watch the line right under your
Explorer menu bar to note when a pop-up may be blocked that you really
want. For instance when you are downloading a file from a website and
its just not occurring, this may be due to this type of problem. To get
the Google toolbar go here:

Speed up your computer by defragging your disk
Windows
XP has a great utility that keeps track of how many times you use an
application. If you run the Windows XP disk defragger it not only
speeds up your PC but putting your most used files in the fastest
accessible portion of your hard disk but also makes these files
continguos on your disk.
Go to your Start button (Bottom left corner of your XP screen) then:
Accessories-->System Tools-->Disk Defragmenter
Please remember that this does not defrag your pagefile for virtual
memory use. If you want to do this you will need another facility.

Norton Systemworks
Diskeeper (probably the best of the bunch, faster and does a better job)
Play DVDs with Windows Media Player
To play DVD's with Windows Media Player, you
need to have a DVD Player (For example, PowerDVD) or a MPEG2
codec
installed.[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Settings]Create
the String value Enable DVDUI, value = yes. Reboot.
Here is a quick way to view the contents of your C: Drive....
I know there are several ways to get to your Drive, but I thought this one was kind of cool....
1. Hit "windows" key and "R".
2. Type in " \ " (backslash minus the quotations). For windows Xp you can either type in a backslash or C:....
3. The contents of your "C:" Drive you should now be able to view....
NOTE: If you do not have a windows keyboard you will need to click "Start" and then "Run" and then do the above steps.
