Patron Saint of Technology

Feast Day - April 4

Welcome to the Technology Department!

School Technology News:

Our school has received a Sullivan Grant from the Connelly Foundation.  This generous grant includes 15 new computers for the lab, 2 SMART Boards, 2 portable carts, and a newtork printer.  We have also received 2 laptop computers from the "Are Your Smarter Than A 4th Grader" competition sponsored by the Greek American Heritage Society's Passport To History Program.

The school technology lab is currently undergoing a serious "makeover."  Not just the lab, but the entire school, is currently in the midst of a re-wiring project that will update all the wiring from  Category 5 cables to Category 6 cables.  In less technical terms, the school is being re-wired with cables that will allow faster and more reliable internet access.

Speaking of internet access, also being installed are more wireless internet access points; which will include one access point for each classroom.

What this means for our students is internet access at increased speeds and availability in or out of the lab.

For the 2009-2010 School Year:

All students will require the following:

  • New Acceptable Use For Technology Agreements

All families will receive a new agreement that is approved by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia with regard to acceptable use of technological components.  ALL STUDENTS FROM PRE-K TO GRADE 8 MUST HAVE A FORM RETURNED TO SCHOOL.  Any student that does not have the agreement on file at school will not be allowed acces to the computer lab, or use of any other type of technological equipment until the form is received.

If your student is in Grades 4-8 you should know the following information:

  • Students in Grades 4-8 receive a grade for Technology on the report card.
  • Lessons are taught according to the guidelines provided by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
  • The students are required to bring a notebook, a folder, and a flash drive to class EVERY WEEK.
  • Homework assignments or handouts will be given most weeks.  Homework assignments are handed out at the end of class and must be handed in at the beginning of the very next class.
  • Late assignments will not be accepted, thus affecting your grade.
  • Occasional tests and quizzes will be administered.  Proper notice will be given when necessary.
  • Projects are to be handed in on the due date given, no exceptions.
  • Behavior, class participation, notebook standards, and attention to task are some aspects that affect the report card grade.
All students, graded or non-graded, are expected to come to class prepared, and make positive contributions in the class.
