Bachelors Degree In Social Work

DEANNA PINNS-LAWSON & STELLA L. WILLIAMS

Authors of: Independent Women Deanna Pinns-Lawson has professional experience in the Department of Human Services. She has assisted in churches, community development organizations, government agencies and scholarship foundations. Ms. Pinns-Lawson was educated at Rider University where she completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts and Women Studies. She received the Dr. Mildred Rice-Jordan Scholarship award at Rider University. She is a candidate for the MSW (Master’s in Social Work) degree at Rutgers University. Stella L. Williams was born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. She holds both an AA and BA degree from Rider University, Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Ms. Williams was recognized by the Rider University Women’s Studies Colloquium Committee first in 1996 for her student paper entitled, “Folk Magic in the Short Stories of Hurston and Walker” and again in 1999 for her student paper entitled, “A Brief Look into the History of Nursing in the United States With a Look at the Journey of a New Jersey Nursing Assistant.”

Scottsdale Mayor W.J."Jim" Lane

Mayor W. J. "Jim" Lane came to Scottsdale from New Jersey in 1973 to take a position with KPMG (Peat Marwick), an international CPA firm. He worked as an active CPA for twenty years with five of those years in public accounting as a financial statement Auditor. Mayor Lane has owned and operated businesses in construction, mining, computer technology, telecommunications and regional aviation. He currently owns the financial consulting company of Chatham Hill Group LLC. Mayor Lane is also an Adjunct Professor of Business and Accounting at Scottsdale Community College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia. He and his wife Joanne have three adult children (Bill, Scott and Nancy) along with three grandchildren (Megan, Aislinn and Madison).
