I am an Amateur Astronomer, and member of Khagol Mandal the largest amateur astronomy group in India. My pursuits in astronomy span from Public Outreach Programmes to Eclipse Chasing. I volunteer at star parties organised at Vangani near Bombay, from October to May by KM, and help the party animals learn about Astronomy and the Night Sky with my Nikon Action 7X50 binoculars. When not out in the night scanning the velvet sky, I devour books on anything and everything in Space Science, issued from the IITB Central Library. About Me: I am currently pursuing MSc in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. My day begins with the ritual of reading The Times of India and The Economic Times. Apart from being an avid blogger, I am a movie-freak and could watch a movie everyday, if I could! I love travelling, but rue the fact that I have been to very few places outside Maharashtra. I do not move out without earphones plugged in my ears, blasting music on the loudest possible volume from my Nokia 6233.

I have completed the Certificate Course in Astronomy and Astrophysics, from the Centre for Extra-Mural Studies, University of Mumbai. I plan to learn Right to Information and be an RTI educator. I am also a student member of the Institute of Actuaries of India. |
