Sala's Bio

The Wedding Page...more to come

Some very helpful vendors-highly recommended

Sticky Fingers Catering...used them for our rehersal dinner, we had an outdoor barbeque complete with fireworks...got lots of raves for Sticky Fingers food.  BBQ, ribs, and chicken.  Great service and easy to work with.

As you can see from my wedding page I loved my flowers.  Even if you aren't local to the Wilmington/Topsail area, she has a great website with lots of great images and ideas.

We wanted something different to make the wedding unique...so we decided to go with a steel drum player for the ceremony.  He played all the traditional music but on a steel drum.  It was an unexpected twist that people thought was fabulous.  Worked perfectly with the outdoor beachy setting.

        Nest/Home Bio

This is my second attempt at a bio, hopefully we will meet with more success than with the first attempt.

We got engaged in November 2006, he proposed for HIS birthday, said getting to spend the rest of his life with me would be all the present he could ever need. Our wedding took place on June 23rd, 2007 on the Intercoastal Waterway in North Topsail Beach, I like to describe the location as the having the beach effect with out the sand.  It was a beautiful day, we couldn't have asked for any better.  We wanted the wedding to be laid back, fun, and happy.  Luckily we got exactly what we wanted. Here are some non-pro pics taken by some good friends.

Shot of guests arriving and the I love the jet skis going by in the background.

The steel drum player we had for our ceremony..no string quartets for us!  Totally stole the idea from Phoebe's wedding on the show Friends.  Once I heard the steel drums at her wedding, I know I wanted it for mine, and thankfully it worked perfectly with our outdoor beachy wedding.

Our beautiful arch for the ceremony...our florist rocked!

The sandlewood fans with DIY tags...a very practical favor for an outdoor summer wedding.

.Tangerine Bridemaid's dress and once again a close up of the fabulous flowers.

Champagne Vests and Mango Calla Bout for the Groom

My flowers...can you tell yet, that I loved the flowers?????  (and unfortunately, yes I was one of those brides who carried her flowers way too high!)

My father and I.  I wore the dress bustled the entire time...the dress was much more formal than I originally envisioned my wedding dress being I had wanted something "simple and flowy" ...but the bustle turned out great and worked very well for outside.

Close up of the dres details.

Close up of bracelet and another view of flowers.  :-) Along with a strange shadow on my arm.

One of my favorite memories of the ceremony is the fact that once I got down the aisle, my DH and I held hands the entire time throughout the ceremony and never let go.

I got a kiss as soon as I got down the aisle...but this is the one that made it official!  (we still didn't stop holding hands, even for the kiss :-)  )

The obligatory rings on the bouquet shot that every bride must have!

Reception Locale- An old manor house next to a stable.

Our photo guest book, people signed around the pictures on each page.  It was one of the first things I checked out when we got home from our honeymoon.  And yes, I will still reread it on occasion.

Close up of the guest book details.  The outside was covered in satin with stiched on capiz shells and seed pearls.  The inside was handmade paper pages.  It was perfect...looked beachy and wedding like at the same time.

One of our centerpieces.  Half the tables had flower arrangements, the other half had silver chargers with candles and cut flower heads.   Unfortunately no one managed to get a picture of those for me.

My cake didn't look exactly as envisioned, but it tasted phenomenal!  The beaded cake server was made by my talented sister...who also made the bridesmaid jewelry.

A very happy bride and a very hot groom during their first dance!

Random things-

This is the reading we had at our ceremony.

                  The Key to Love:

The key to love is understanding ... The ability to comprehend not only the spoken word. but those unspoken gestures, the little things that say so much by themselves.
The key to love is forgiveness... To accept each others faults and pardon mistakes, without forgetting, but with remembering what you learn from them.
The key to love is sharing... Facing your good fortunes as well as the bad, together; both conquering problems, forever searching for ways to intensify your happiness.
The key to love is giving... Without thought of return, but with hope of just a simple smile, and by giving in but never giving up.
The key to love is respect... Realizing that you are two separate people, with different ideas; that you don't belong to each other, that you belong with each other, and share a mutual bond.
The key to love is inside us all... It takes time and patience to unlock all the ingredients that will take you to its threshold; it is the continual learning process that demands a lot of work... but the rewards are more than worth the effort... and that is the key to love.

The save the dates we sent out with our Christmas Cards, complete with poem written by my fantastic husband.  The back side contained all the information about places to stay in the area.

Invitation Detail- You can't see in the picture they were printed in olive ink.

The surprise groom's cake served at the rehersal dinner, that proves I'm one of the coolest wives ever.
