An interesting piece of "house history"... This is located in the old kitchen standing next to the old doorway into the hallway. It was over where we (and the previous owners) had our refrigerator. Near the bottom of the picture, you can see two narrow pipes. These are natural gas pipes and there was apparently a tall, narrow closet in the kitchen for the hot water heater. During the previous kitchen remodel some 30+ years ago, they simply closed up the ceiling, but left the remnants of the old hot water heater closet in the attic. Neat, huh?
