Hydrotherapy is a general term to describe therapy in warm water. Hydrotherapy has been around for thousands of years as a form of healing.

Physiotherapists refer to what we do now as "aquatic physiotherapy" to distinguish our profession from other users who may use the term "hydrotherapy".

Aquatic physiotherapy (hydrotherapy) involves rehabilitation in warm water (usually 32-34 degrees celcius) and involves a specific set of physiotherapy techniques and exercises using the unique properties and benefits of water.
