Turnip Greens Cooking - Cooking Eye Round - Potato Cooking Times Turnip Greens Cooking
turnip greens, turnips, chorizo, fresh bread All from the "farmer's market", which in my neighborhood, is a handful of trucks in a church parking lot off of the main drag. I cooked the greens and turnips by boiling them in water, when the water boils, drain it off to get rid of the bitter, and add fresh water. I added a vegan boullion cube to keep it vegetarian. I like my vegetables tender, so I didn't even let this water fully boil, they will only need 10 minutes maybe at this point. The chorizo (I am not a vegetarian, I just live with one) was fresh from a Hispanic lady, made somewhere in LA. It is so good I am addicted to it. It's what I fry into my eggs. The bread was a rosemary blue cheese loaf, and lasted maybe a day. We like bread. 334/365: Tired of Turkey
So I had a tasty lunch that did not include anything that had appeared on the table at Thanksgiving. Meat loaf, turnip greens with turnips and ham, and yellow squash. Huzzah to Hudson's BBQ. I was better able to face leftovers (again!) for dinner. Even though we cooked a turkey breast rather than a whole turkey, it seemed to take forever to get through. Heh. 334/365: 30 November 2010 Related topics: cooking schools in manhattan tips of cooking mickey mouse cooking session hard cooking games cooking conversion rates cooking artichokes in the microwave only new cooking games 99 cooking guide cheap cooking games cooking mama kills animals |
