To paraphrase a certain former congressman from New York, "I have no idea if this is the same slow cooker I use to cook food, or not." And, even if it WERE the same one, I'm using one of those plastic liners, so it's not as if any of the lead paint will touch the ceramic insert. Last week on the internet, I read that one can remove paint from small metal items by soaking them for a long time in a slow cooker. Even though we're not reusing our hardware, I had to try this. Maybe if this comes out okay, I can sell this stuff on eBay.
