Altrusa is an international volunteer service organization of  business and professional leaders, classified by occupation, dedicated to improving their communities through personal service. Through the more than 450 local Altrusa clubs located around the world, members unite their varied talents in service to others, achieving as a group what individuals cannot do alone.

Altrusa is also a community service organization that espouses volunteerism, service and fights for literacy and against AIDS.
