_______________________________________________________AnnouncementsProgram for February 11th meeting:
At least seven bills have been presented to Congress that affect how our food is kept safe. While new laws and regulations may help, the words they contain, and even the increase in funds that may follow may not actually effect a positive change. A fundamental re-examination of the agencies that regulate our food, along with a critical look at how they do what they do is long overdue. _______________________________________________________Project information...
One of our current project's is our annual fundraiser - Trading Closets
Hi Friends:
This announcement is about one of the most fun evenings in Gainesville -- a great shopping party where you can find new and gently used great fashions. Proceeds from the sale, sponsored by Altrusa International of Gainesville, support Altrusa's projects to help the elderly and children in our community. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. You can help in several ways. First, your donations of new or very gently used clothing, shoes, handbags, scarves, jewelry, and more (no, we don't take husbands, pets or in-laws) help us generate our fashion inventory. Second, buy a ticket for the Friday Night Fashion Party on March 12 at the Gainesville Women's Club. In addition to clothing, there's a silent auction of a variety of items, wine, hors d'oeuvres and a fashion show. Hope to hear from you that you'd love to be part of helping Altrusa make a difference in our community. Our sponsors are Butler Enterprises and the Gainesville Women's Club.
