This site is intended to provide a way to locate Alabama soccer venues using positions displayed on a map rather than in the form of driving directions. Driving directions can be easily generated using the mapping tools.

The high school field location information is grouped into 24 groups, comprised of three divisions, 1-4A, 5A, and 6A, for each of eight sections. The field location information can be viewed in both Google Maps and Google Earth, as well as any other software that uses KML files.

Each approach has its advantages and disadvantages. Google Maps can be used without installing any software on your computer beyond an up-to-date browser, and allows viewing of the locations in map, satellite, and hybrid views. Google maps supports a subset of KML so it will not display all field locations on one map. (It is possible but requires maintenance of the same field locations in multiple files.)

Google Earth is a standalone application which is available for most computers. It always uses a satellite view though roads can be displayed as well. Using Google Earth it is possible to look at all the fields at once, or to look at all the school fields within a division such as 6A.
