Brothers, We will be holding the seventh meeting of Tales and Ales on Saturday, October 3rd. We will be discussing THE OMNIVORE'S DILEMMA by Michael Pollan (click here for Amazon listing). The meeting will take place at 8:00 at Brian Patterson's (and Ales-only member Mark Winkelstein's) apartment in Owings Mills, MD.
We would love to see some new faces at this meeting. If you haven't yet attended, we each bring a six-pack or large bottle of craft or foreign beer to sample during the discussion. We will find local accommodations for you if you are coming from out of the area.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
In Phi,

The Alumni Association is hosting a free fantasy football league through Yahoo Sports this year. It is a "for fun" league for bragging rights only. All Alumni are encouraged to sign up for a team. Please note that the draft will be available online (August 26th, 7:30PM) so the locations of Brothers should not hinder their ability to join in on the fun times ahead.
In order to join the league, go to game front page, click the "Sign Up Now" or "Get Another Team" button and follow the links to "Join a Custom League". When prompted, enter the League ID# and password below. League ID#: 442955 Password: 12061845 |

Brothers, The BBQ is this Saturday at Kron's house. If you are planning on coming, but have not purchased your ticket, please either purchase your ticket now or email the alumni association with the number of people you are bringing along with a note stating that you will bring your money the day of. This is very important so that we may know how many people to purchase food for. For full details on the event, read the post below. |

If paying by check, please make the check payable to Alpha Sigma Phi Alumni Assoc. and mail it to: Alpha Sigma Phi Alumni Assoc. If paying by PayPal, please click the Buy Now button below.
Please make your payment (online or postmarked) by July 4th at the latest. This event will only be as good as you make it. There is more than a month's worth of time to plan ahead for it, the location is very centralized and the event is set to be fairly low key. We strongly urge everyone to come. We had an excellent turn out last year and are looking forward to an even stronger event this year! |

Brothers, I realize that this is rather late, but the undergrads wanted me to send out an email on their behalf inviting everyone in the area to dinner tomorrow (Tuesday) night at 7pm at Buffalo Wild Wings (Westminster) for a farewell dinner for Brother Maisel before he leaves for basic in a week. I'm sure Maisel would appreciate a large turn out before he heads off, so I hope to see you there.

The Epsilon Xi Alumni Association has a busy couple of months ahead. Things are starting off rather strong on May 2nd with a business meeting where all Alpha Members will decide what to do with the $600 raised over the winter for the undergrads. Immediately following this meeting will be the Alumni Activation Ceremony held at Noon in Gold Room A. It is my hope that for the first time ever, the undergraduates will actually have alumni present during this ceremony so that they may be welcomed to the alumni association properly.
On the horizon, we have a Tales and Ales meeting in June, another fun BBQ in July (Possibly at Kron’s House), a Golf tournament in August and a potential Retreat with the undergrads in September. If anyone is interested in assisting the exec board in setting these events up, please email the alumni account. |
