Memories of a Smaller Time
Memories of a Smaller Time
This was his car seat from when he no longer fit in the carrier - to when he "graduated" to his current booster seat.

Its been sitting in the garage for several years - just gathering dust.

Before we took it to the Salvation Army, he wanted one last sit in it. Even with some adjusting, he could barely fit in the top straps. (The bottom ones were a lost cause.)

We sat and talked of the trips we had made with him in this chair - around the city, our state, and visits to (and through) other states.

He asked "Daddy, why don't you save this for when I have a little brother or sister?", and I choked up for a little. I tried to explain that by the time he had a brother/sister, this car seat would be too old - and that it would be happier if it could have a little child in it really soon (which is why we were going to give it away).

He replied "It is going to be happy that it is keeping another little boy or girl safe, isn't it?" I nodded, gave him a hug - and away it went...

On the way to Grandpa's for Thanksgiving, Z fell asleep in his turkey hat. I took several photos trying to get a good one.
