Each April, the Sisters of Alpha Lambda Sigma celebrate the end of a successful year with the ALS Formal. A "formal journal" is created by the Sisters. This is where anyone who has been touched by an ALS Sister can express their thoughts. Many Sisters use this journal to express their feelings about the sisterhood. Here are just a few:

“We all before or after eachother made a decision to be a part of something as wonderful as Alpha Lambda Sigma and that is why we are 'The Best of the Best!' I cant imagine being a part of anything else or being anywhere else. We've watched eachother grow in so many ways and get over our fears that maybe we once had. We've shared memories, tears, triumphs. Every last one of you girls have left me with a fond memory.”
Cathy DeRosa – Alpha Class
“Thanks for everything, for being there when I needed you, for understanding when I cry, and laughing when I laugh. This is cheesy, but you have all changed my life, and I am so grateful.”
Michelle Seeley – EpsilonClass
“As alumni, I just wanted to let you know that what we are will never die…”
Carla Carreira – Alpha Class
“Four years have passed and I cant believe that I am graduating. It really didn’t hit me until a couple of days ago when I was driving back to school … Tears ran down my cheeks as I started to racall the days at Pace that I spend with my sisters … We have been through so many things through these years. I went from never having a sister to having over 40 … I really can not deal with the emptiness that I have started to feel and that will take over my heart.”
Teresa DeCandia - Beta Class
“Over the past 4 years I have seen this organization grow and now I truly see the beauty that it possesses.”
Jessica Jakubowski - Epsilon Class
“I just cannot explain how upset I am that I have to leave. You girls have made me so incredibly happy that I cannot express in words. I am so very thankful that I have been blessed with all of the friendships I have made and the sisterhood which will endure forever … From the bootom of my heart, I thank every single one of you for all that you have done for me.”
Kristen Jones - Zeta Class
“Ladies of Alpha Lambda Sigma – you are all amazing women, and I am incredibly happy, and honored that I have had the privilege of knowing so many people as truly beautiful as you are! I hope that you can all see yourselves the way I see you! Here’s to the Best of the Best!”
Olga Brand - Delta Class
“The past few years seem too long to remember yet too short to forget. Before I go, I would like you all to know a few things. I love each and every one of you as if you were my real ‘sister’. On every path my life has taken me, both past and present, there was always someone offering a shoulder to cry on or a mere kick in the ass. I am sure that as time goes on the friendships I have made here will continue to grow and prosper. Alpha Lambda Sigma has changed my life and I will take with me and cherish the friendships that I have made forever. As I said before, the years seem too long to remember yet to short to ever forget.”
Caroline Silvestro - Epsilon Class
“To all my beautiful sisters of Alpha Lambda Sigma. I just want to take a moment and say how much each and every one of you means to me. Without all of you I would not be the person that I am today.”
Becky Vitarius - Gamma Class
“This year made me realize that a few short years ago I was a little girl scared of what I had to say, a girl who was afraid to stand up for herself, and a girl afraid of what may lie in the future. Four years later Im gleaming with pride because ALS has brought something out of me that Im not sure would have otherwise. As I stand before you tonight I want you all to try and to realize who you are and where you want to be. Alpha Lambda Sigma, or rather the girls who make up this crazy organization, have made me realize what type of person I want to be…”
Allyssa Tillson - Zeta Class
“It’s not often in ones life that they can say they have 30 people who are there for them and care so much. Some consider themselves lucky if they have one and for that reason we are the luckiest girls in the world to have eachother. Friends come and go as do boyfriends but true friends and sisters like ourselves impact our lives forever. ‘Friendship is a promise made in the heart, silent, unwritten, unbreakable by distance, unchangeable by time.’ I've learned so much from each one of you and I will take these lessons with me for the rest of my life.”
Erica Flores - Theta Class
“I truly am so honored to have each and every one of you to call my sisters. We have had some really great times. I thank you all for being there through the good and the bad. You all constantly remind me what makes us so different from all the rest.”
Trisha Santella - Theta Class
“Individually you have each given me a piece of you without even knowng it. I have been given the privilege to walk out of here knowing I was able to take part in the best sisterhood a girl could ever dream up.”
Melinda Marinaccio - Eta Class
“There is a huge knot in my throat as I sit here with tears in my eyes, knowing that this is the end of a huge part of my life … I have never been prouder in my life then when I was given the incredible job of being President of this sorority … You have given me laughter to last a lifetime and you have given me memories that no other group of girls could ever compare to … Whether you realize it or not, each of you have made an impact on my life, Thankyou for the memories. I wouldn’t be Sissa without you.”
Melissa Brennan - Theta Class
“The friendships that we have all formed are unexplainable, and the bond we now have is irreplaceable.”
Trisha Santella - Theta Class
“I never would have guessed that I would be part of a sorority, and now this sorority is a part of me.”
Lynn Begany - Iota Class
“You girls made everything always seem ok when times were not.”
Tracy Basso - Theta Class
“Theres nothing more I can say than, you girls were the reason I pledged. You brought me to this amazing organization. Ill remember watching ALS my first semester Freshmen year and looking up to all of you girls. Now you have become not only sisters, but close friends.”
