ALPFA Twin Cities
Letter from the President

February 12, 2009

Welcome to ALPFA Twin Cities!

The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) is the fastest growing Latino professional organization with a focus in finance, accounting, and other related professions. ALPFA was founded in 1972 and we currently have over 8,300 members in 34 cities, 19 states, and our nation’s capital. About half of our members are professionals, while the rest are students, mostly enrolled in Finance or Accounting programs.  ALPFA creates opportunities, adds value, builds relationships for its members, the community and its business partners while expanding Latino leadership in the global workforce.  Membership is open to anyone who shares ALPFA’s mission, vision, and values.

The main objective of ALPFA Twin Cities is to provide development, cultural and networking opportunities for local Latino students and professionals. The Latino population in the Twin Cities is over 150,000 and it is quickly growing.  The Twin Cities have the advantage of being home to many major corporations including Target, Cargill, General Mills, UnitedHealth Group, 3M and others.  There are also a number of large local colleges and universities, such as the University of Minnesota, University of Saint Thomas, Metropolitan State University to name a few. There are currently over 5,100 Latino students enrolled in post-secondary education programs in the Twin Cities.

The opportunities are vast and the need is obvious. I am extremely excited for ALPFA to provide the Twin Cities professional and student Latino communities with quality opportunities for development and professional advancement.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or anyone else from our Board of Directors with questions, comments, concerns or suggestions you may have.

I look forward to meeting you at a local ALPFA event soon!

Kind Regards,

Tzviatko Chiderov
ALPFA Twin Cities Chapter President
