A very easy recipe in a magazine. It's tacky, but somehow it intrigued me. Hmm... I'm not sure what to call this; Lamb Cacciatore w Rogan Josh, or Rogan Josh w too much tomatoes & zero hotness, so I called it 'Fusion', hahaha. It is actually quite delicious. Brown the lamb shanks, transfer to slow cooker, then saute the onion, add Rogan Josh paste, tinned chopped tomatoes & chicken stock, pour it over the lamb shanks, leave it to cook in the slow cooker. Perfect for a busy Winter day. I happen to have frozen Rogan Josh paste which is made from scratch. Optionally, there's store-bought Rogan Josh paste, which is what this recipe is created for. Served w spiced roasted cauliflower & basmati rice. 17 Aug 2011 Tips: when cooking using canned tomatoes, add a good pinch of sugar & salt to balance the acidity. It also takes away the 'canned' taste which I can detect.
