Okay, I haven't been on here in too long. And I'm sorry. But right now I'm studying abroad in Spain! And I have a blog that I update at least once a week! So if you want to learn about Spanish culture through my eyes, I encourage you to check it out. I try to keep it balanced between humorous (which we all know is subjective anyway) and information. You can find it at: siemprehazloquetienesmiedodehacer.wordpress.comEnjoy! besos |

Let me start off by apologizing. It's been forever since I've updated any of you. This semester has been quite a douzy, but I'm making it through with God in the Pilot Seat. I am second. I've been to Mexico and back. We normally stay in Texas and just drive on over to Mexico for treatment and such. I usually just get the treatment and leave because I feel so crappy, but this time I took an anti-anxiety pill, and after the procedure immediately took some pain killers and antibiotics. It worked, I wasn't in any bit of pain the entire time. So we walked around a bit; toured the tequila shop next door, got free samples--that was crazy. And well, I've yet to be in pain, and it's December. Haha, so I think that's over. Mexico was a breeze and it still working miracles through the Hands of our Creator, Protecter, Healer, and Savior. The whole time I was in Mexico I spoke/conversed in Spanish. That was so much fun! Since then I've been to Scotland and back. What a trip. Tied as my top favorite trip of my life. It was gorgeous, old and steeped in history. Ask me about it, and I'll tell you more sometime. Today is Dead Day at Baker University, a much needed halt to activities and classes before la locura de finals start. I have six. But I'm not worried. They'll be fine, just as long as I don't procrastinate too much and get some early studying done. In 27 days I leave for Spain for practically 7 months. I'll be gone from the beginning of January to the end of June. I'm studying abroad there, in Granada. Which is south. Prayers for safety, growth, and fun times are extremely welcomed. I'll pop in soon! Thank you all for everything. |

Today, March 2nd, is the one year anniversary of Allyson's stroke. After a year of prayers and very hard work she is BACK!
We know and believe she is completely healed, because God was so kind as to provide us with this physical evidence of her recovery from it! Praise JESUS :)

Sunday, December 26th we (mom, Cheryl and I) left for Texas. The flight and all went well. Monday, we went into Reynosa, Mexico to get an MRI of the brain/neck/upper back. The technicians only spoke Spanish, so Allyson had a blast trying out her language skills--although we barely understand neurology-speech in English, so it was quite entertaining. We were in Mexico for 9 hours, waiting for the MRI, the results and then the line to get back. So we pushed off our appointment with Dr. Gonzalez until Tuesday.
Dr. Gonzalez was very happy with her progress and rehabilitation from the stroke, and how obviously the tumors weren't affecting anything. Which is what I've been saying all along.
She got 5 implants (time-release) and 5 shots (immediate) of placental stem cells. The Dr. said that her tumors have not grown! Praise Jesus! and his main goal is full of common sense--keep her neurological activity working at the highest, and her clinical symptoms to the minimum. This is now our priority and we have full faith in God (most especially) and the stem cells (secondarily) and Dr. Gonzalez's kind wisdom. Thank you all for you prayers and donations! We sincerely appreciate it.
She will not need to return until next year (it's usually 6 months in between treatments, but since I'm doing so well--1 year!)
[This spring/summer Cheryl McCrary is planing a run/walk 5k to benefit AllysonsHope! More information to come!]

God Is so good...! Allyson is heading back to Mexico
Dec 26th we will have stem cell implanted on the 27th
A MRI in the morning and then implants in the afternoon
We are almost good for the money for this trip. Just short about
$1000 so we could use some help. If you would like to help just email
and let us know. allysonshope@gmail.com And of course the most of all Pray. It will be a little
harder for Allyson this time, she is a little nervous just knowing the pain
from the last time. We will keep you updated on the time for the implant
so you can pray for her. Thanks so much for all your support.

Bonjour tout le monde. (hello everyone) It's back in school for me. Life
is back to being hectic with normal things. It's great!
I
love all my classes! and I love learning
nothing really new to
report
on.
Except, I would really appreciate your prayers on choosing
my major, finding my career, and especially choosing when and where
to study abroad. I'm leaning towards Spain for a semester, and
hopefully France for a summer. |
