| What is not to love about Bermuda? Yes the beaches are really pink. I have to say that in my experience Bermuda is the safest and friendliest vacation destination bar none.
Bermuda is known for pink sands, proper British tea and purple bougainvillea. Ghost-haunted plantations, grand mansions and white gardens and white gardenias. Take a walk on the sea bottom with a special Bermuda diving helmet. Have high tea at the top of an old lighthouse. Or go down to an underground world of stalactites and stalagmites. Golfers, Bermuda has more golf courses per square feet than any place in the world.
We will be docked for the entire time of our two night stay in Bermuda at Kings Wharf which is right in the middle of everything. There is much to do from shopping, night life, beaches and water sports, historic tours as Bermuda abounds with colonial history. The scenery is amazing. There are many inlets and coves to eplore. And the best thing of all is getting around is so easy. The two main cities St George and Hamilton can be traveled by water taxis, busses and any kind of public transportation. We escorted a group to Bermuda a couple of seasons ago and the cost was $6.00 for an all day public transportation pass. The pass included all modes of transportation my land or water.
There is never a need to feel lost or concerned about schedules and routes. The Bermudians are unbelievably friendly and actually seek to help the tourists. We cannot wait to return to Bermuda and to share it with you!
On our return we will be docking and spending a day in Nassau. Duty free shopping and visiting the Atlantis Casino in Paradise Island is a favorite among tourists, there are a number of other sites to see and things to do. Take a ferry ride ferry from Prince George dock, West to Arawak Cay, and along to Ft Montague observing the many historical points of interest as well as the area's local flavor. See some of the homes and properties of the rich and famous. If you are planning a visit to the Atlantis Resort and Casino, take the time to go through the spectacular "Atlantis Dig" home to tens of thousands of the world's most exotic fish and sea creatures as well as the ancient artifacts of Atlantis. If culture and history are what you are looking for, take a journey to the highest point on the Island, "The Water Tower" which stands 126 feet tall and still supplies water to the citizens of Nassau to this day. The view is amazing. Then walk to the "Queen's Staircase" and learn the history and significance behind this creation. There are aslo available tours to Stingray City, Ardastra Gardens, Dolphin Encounters, a glass bottom boat ride, or just relax on the beach. As many times as we have visited Nassau we always find a new adventure.
