Tagged/Contest [ENDED] This serves as a tag picture, a quick contest/giveaway thing, and a picture of my Halloween costume. Ok, tag part first. I was tagged by (in chronological order) Sparkytron, 4estFeller, Beakr, [ACE], and Bricko. 0. Zero is a number too. 1. This picture was taken during one of my many naps. 2. The walls are pink and green cuz this used to be my sisters' room. 3. Black socks are the ish. 4. I'm a Michiganian. 5. Inter Milan, the best soccer team in the world, they are. 6. Darth Maul is the most interesting character in Star Wars, hands down. 7. One of these "facts" is a lie. Can you tell which one? 8. I'm hungry. That's why I'm cooking pizza rolls right now. 9. I've been to Hawaii before, it was the best two weeks of my life. 10. Necronomicon. It rocks. ...And on to the giveaway part. I am wearing my Halloween "costume" in this photograph. The first person to guess what I was wins something small from my LEGO collection. It will most likely end up being a fig, perhaps not though. You have until the clock on my computer says 8:00 (EST) to guess. That is all. Now guess, would ya? Also, this picture was taken in the future. EDIT: Sorry people, contest over. My costume? I AM THE 99%! 1944 Robert Tarvin Brooks
Not a doctor yet, not a senior with 5 kids, 18 with the worldat his feet. He had run away from home after his mother died and stayed in Florida for a year when he was 16. That's where he learned how to cook as a short order cook in a diner. My father joined the Navy early. He lied about his age and enlisted 2 - 3 months before his 18th birthday. This early enlistment was brought on by a difference of opinion with the principal of Central High School, Hattie Gresham. My father and a few of his friends had gone down to Fountain City Barbershop and had all their hair cut off as a senior prank. Hattie Gresham didn't like that and as punishment said the boys would have to graduate at the end of the summer when their hair had grown out some. My dad chose the Navy. My father passed away 21 years ago so a lot of what I know about these pictures are second hand information, what's written on the back of some of them and guess work on my part. Either way, here are some pictures of his military service and pictures my father took.
