i didn't shower or get out of my pajamas all day. though i did go to in n out burger and safeway with my brother. so much for lookin' good in 2009! in any case, i decided to spare myself the horror of trying to take a picture where my greasy hair and dirty mickey mouse sweatshirt weren't terribly offensive and disturbing. so, all of "me" here is my chipped purple nailpolish. and the book i am currently reading, in an attempt to change me life (ha!). truly, i feel the ideas Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (what a NAME!) wants to expound in this book (from what i have read so far) are fascinating. the idea that we are utterly in control of our own consciousness, and thus able to decide how we feel about things instead of things deciding how we feel, is, obviously, potentially life-altering. my goal (among others, of course) this year is to learn to live in the moment. i need more than anything to stop regretting the past and choices i made that cannot be changed. being anxious about the future is also useless. worrying, instead of acting, does no good. i need to believe this! and i also need a manicure. is it possible to do 365 on a free account? we shall see...! in any case, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
