Character
DS563 (a repeat of DS503, verbatim) Make a photograph of a symbol today. For Macromavens Symbols and characters allow us to communicate non-vocally. That said, there is no universal standard for syllabification in the written form. English is fairly simple with its 26 letters. Other languages such as Russian use an entirely different alphabet with additional characters, some of which represent sounds unique to the language. Chinese goes a step beyond, using visual elements to construct a concept as an ideogram. There are thousands of symbols used in Chinese! And if anyone knows what this one means, I'd appreciate a translation. As always, I ask that you please refrain from posting graphics in your comments. Thanks!
