The fishing has been slow inshore, the reds (red drums),and trout have moved up into the rivers and inlets. Speaking of red fish as of February 1^st,2012 the FWC  increased the bag limit to 2 per person per day and keeping the slot size limit the same 18-27in.

Back in December FWC also raised the bag limit of red grouper from 2 to 4 per person per day.

Offshore fishing has been very good for black sea bass, and gag grouper. The gag grouper must be returned unharmed, however, they are present in abundance to depths of 70 feet. Further out there are plenty of snapper, Red snapper, B-liners, and black snapper have all been caught by boats willing to make the 25-30 mile trip. Red snapper is closed so they must be returned as well. Some flounder are still being caught offshore as well, mostly in the 4- to 50 foot depths.

There has also been a good mullet run going on and it has been no problem to fill a bucket from most any dock. The mullet are good sized and tasty when freshly caught.

The opening of the 2012 gag grouper season in STATE waters will open April 1st and close June 30th. FEDRAL water

will open July 1st and close Sept 30th. As of March 1st there is no word on the openning of red snapper .

The Marina is operating on winter hours for now. We are open seven days a week from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The marina stocks fresh batteries should you need one and our prices beat those in Panacea, or Tallahassee.
