LEAGUE REPORT
Fall Leagues Wrap Up Showing the Club's Quality and Improvement
November 1st, 2009

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan - With most teams having played their final match of the fall 2009 season, a number of significant strides have been made and many teams have shown tremendous growth from Spring 2009 play.  The results have come despite a number of the teams choosing to play 'up' against older competition.  Take a look at some of our club's accomplishments (in no particular order) this fall season and read about our highlighted team (u12 Boys) below.

  • The u13 Boys Premier won the MSPSL State White Division having only conceded three (3) goals.
  • Our u14 Boys finished their MRL season in fifth place with strong results against the top two teams.
  • The u14 Girls Black finished in fourth position in the MSPSL Premier 1 after vaulting past six (6) teams that finished above them in the Spring 2009 standings!
  • Our u14 Girls East team, a team of two and three sport athletes, won the u14 Girls GVSA Elite Division with a 7-1 record!
  • The u12 Boys have topped the GVSA u13 Elite Division finishing with 7 wins and 1 tie.  This team has had an extraordinary run over the past three years and is highlighted below.
  • The u11 Girls Black came up one game short in the u12 Elite division placing 2nd to a strong Red Arrow team.
  • The u11 Girls White played each of the top three 1st division teams to tight games but, ended up in fourth place.  It is noteworthy that not a single player on this team played 1st  division soccer in the spring.
  • Our u9 Boys Black team finished 1st in the u10 Boys 2nd Division after scoring a league high thirty-six (36) goals.
  • The u8 Boys battled to a 2nd Place finish in the 1st Division.
  • The u10 Girls are currently in 2nd Place in the 2nd Division with a final record of 6-2.
  • The u13 Boys White fought their way to a u13 Boys 2nd Division Championship with a stellar defensive effort and Noah Barton's tremendous goalkeeping.  The team gave up a meager five (5) goals all season.
  • The u8 Boys finished 2nd in the u8 1st Division.
  • The u9 Boys White team finished 2nd in the u9 2nd Division without a loss at 6-0-2!

Highlighting the Alliance FC u12 Boys team.

In case you haven't heard about one of our up and coming teams, we wanted to put together a quick overview of this team's accomplishments over the past three years.  Quietly, Coach Ryan Fitzsimmons has developed this team into a regional contender and they have consistently represented the club well with their sportsmanship and impressed opposing coaches with their excellent brand of soccer.

The team has never played in their own age division in GVSA play as they have constantly tried to stretch themselves technically and tactically.  Here are their GVSA league highlight:

  • Fall 2007 - u10 Boys playing in the u11 Boys 2nd Division - Finished 1st (6-0-2).
  • Spring 2008 - u10 Boys playing in the u11 Boys 1st Division - Finished 2nd (5-1-2).
  • Fall 2008 - u11 Boys playing u12 Boys Elite - Finished 3rd (4-4).
  • Spring 2009 - u11 Boys playing u13 Boys 2nd - Finished 2nd (5-2-1).
  • Fall 2009 - u12 Boys playing u13 Boys Elite - Finished 1st (7-0-1).
