Identified TOC Criteria:

You may ask why it is necessary to keep these criteria, which were originally identified for the TOC, in mind.  They are still important criteria to consider as you plan your individual state ECI work. You may find it helpful to go back to these original thoughts as you plan.

Identified TOC Criteria:
  • Have "enough legs" in states
  • Can be addressed within new or existing systems
  • "Fit" with accountability to funders
  • Maintain a focus on primary prevention
  • Can be realistically expected to achieve impact in three years
  • Logically connect to stated TOC goals
  • Correspond to the readiness, capacity and willingness of CTFs
  • And, together, impact all levels of the Ecological Model

Building Strong and Sustainable State Structures for Strengthening Families

Are You Utilizing the "State Structure Checklist" -- available on SurveyMonkey?

If not, you might take this opportunity to take a quick look and envision some ways this tool might help you to achieve greater sustainability for your state's Strengthening Families work.  A link to the checklist is in the "State Structure Webinar" document file (left margin) in the document entitled "Link to State Structure Checklist."

Reeder's Digest

“Reeder’s Digest“ – From my desk where I spend considerable time talking with you, conducting and participating on conference calls, etc. . .today (July 1, 2009)  I am launching this blog-type space.  Please visit it and by all means – let me know you came by.  Leave some of your own comments behind.  Start a conversation with other ECI Learning Community members.  It will be a place to share insights and perceptions.  It can be a repository for thoughts and ideas that may still be in the process of being formulated.  I can’t wait to hear from you.  Martha

Small But Significant . . .

Every month during our networking meetings, states are sharing about the "small but significant" changes that are happening in their states when the Strengthening Families Protective Factor Framework is embedded into both their state systems and in work directly on the ground.  Now the materials and information they share during the networking meetings is archived on this Site, and quickly accessible to you, by clicking on the link "Small But Significant" in the left margin.

Georgia would like to pose the following question for those states working on SF Professional Development "What definitions, criteria, and goals/objectives are you using for developing Strengthening Families training/education, and assessing existing training/education?" Thanks!Carol Wilson GA carolcwilson@comcast.net
