Our next Cluster Group meetings will be on Thursday, December 3 at 9 AM (HI); 11 AM (AK); Noon (PST); 1 PM (MT); 2 PM (CT); 3 PM (ET).  Please make plans now to be a part of these.  There was good work accomplished at the meeting in Atlanta.  Many Learning Community members commented that they were eager to share - and posting your tools and other resources on your CG page can create great resources for our entire network!  Please email anything that you would like to have posted to me and I will post.

We made a decision to cancel the networking call that would regularly be scheduled for next Thursday, November 5.  Many of you have taken quite a bit of time away from your offices to participate in the Atlanta meetings - and could probably use a little catch up time.  

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

Reflections on Atlanta

The Power of Story
[A Note from Martha:]  So many stories were shared during our time in Atlanta.  I shared some pieces of my story -- and four of our states shared some wonderful stories as well.  In the halls and after hours many more stories were shared.  It will take us all a while to process the experiences of the past few days.  Even those who were not able to be present for the meeting -- were involved in substantial ways through the documentation of their work -- and all of the contributions they have already made.

Now we will move forward.  I am taking a short break -- so will be unavailable until November 9.  At the lunch table today (Oct. 29) with ECI Learning Community members - we discussed some directions for the Cluster Group work.  I will be contacting all of you in a couple of weeks after you have had a little time to process everything -- and we will build on these experiences to help move us to the next level of action in our work.  

Please don't forget what a powerful resource we all are to each other.  Sometimes we seem to forget this until we come together for an event.  It would be great if we could do this more often -- but we are "there for each other" all the time -- if we remember to tap into our Learning Community.  The wisdom and experience contained there is rich and powerful.  So take some time to reflect on these experiences.  I hope it launches all of us into a renewed promise to strengthen families in deeper and more meaningful ways.

Reeder's Digest

“Reeder’s Digest“ – If you haven't checked in with me recently, come sit with me for a minute and consider where we are with the ECI.  It is halfway through 2009, and a time for reflection.  I am also looking ahead to our October  ECI Learning Community meeting in Atlanta -- and I want to hear from you about the content of the meeting.  I hope you will drop by.

Small But Significant . . .


Almost every month during our networking meetings, states are sharing about the "small but significant" changes that are happening in their states when the Strengthening Families Protective Factor Framework is embedded into both their state systems and in work directly on the ground.  Now the materials and information they share during the networking meetings is archived on this Site, and quickly accessible to you, by clicking on the link "Small But Significant" in the left margin.
