Look for 3 images that tell a story and make a set of photos that go together. obviously someone has a sense of humor, a welding tool, 2 similar discarded cars, and a desire to make something unusual/artistic. this is in bellingham, MA, off rt 140. the car on the left faces nominally east, the car on the right faces west and the car on the bottom is the two of them welded together. no, i don't know enough about photoshop elements to "create" this-- it *really* IS a melded car :):) this is my FIRST attempt at photoshop elements, aka PSE (**whoo-hoo**), other than trying to get rid of a balloon that looked like it was growing out of someone's head. took these pictures twice but couldn't figure out how to make them into a collage for #ds84. got brave this morning and muddled through. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ reprising this picture (for trash talk tuesday on 3/1/11) cause i just love it.........am not sure that this actually counts as trash or "art". someone actually took the time to find similar abandoned cars, cut them, weld them and then place it in a corner lot which someone mows on a major state road. maybe we can look at it as former trash that someone has artfully recycled??? couldn't resist sharing it with you guys, tho :):) (if you give me a bye this week, i promise i'll go back to cans and plastic cup covers next week, ok? :) ~ggg~ HTTT :):) @:)

Once upon a time, a long time ago, the UK did actually manage to manufacture things. However all that changed when the country was Thatchered and industry was privatised and/ or sold off to foreign companies who then closed Britain down. Prior to that happening, although not all rosy, Britain set out to work each morning, choosing to commute in one of the fine British built specimens seen on the side of this Leyland Atlantean from the Greater Manchester fleet. The city exec could travel in his Rover SD1, the housewife could do the weekly shop in her Allegro, whilst the labourers busy with the road works on the high street would have their neccassarry tools in the back of their Sherpa van. The kids meanwhile would travel to school on a bus of British built origin. As the Thatcher years progressed, with strikes and riots and rising unemployment, the city exec arrives at work in his German BMW, the housewife now needs to work to top up the family income and drives a small Japanese car whilst the labourers have a French built van, the school bus now for the kids is a Scania with a Polish built body! The Leyland name was once known worldwide, now its history.
