Screw holding screwdriver set - Diamond drill bit set Screw Holding Screwdriver Set
Yashica Electro So, I replaced the light seals on my new purchase, but something was still a miss. The rangefinder wasn't aligned correctly. When you set the focus ring to infinity, the rangefinder didn't quite line up, hence the focus was always going to be slightly out. I trawled the internet to see if there was a fix I could perform myself. Eventually I found out how to fix this problem and thought it useful if I post it here, incase anyone else has similar problems with their Yashica Electro. It has two screws that adjust the rangefinder (verticle and horizontal), one can be accessed under the hotshoe and the other behind the battery test button panel (beware on this one!). To access the hotshoe one, you will need to remove a little slide in plate on the hotshoe. To do this you will need a small screwdriver or something small and flat. From the lens side, slide the screwdriver under the hotshoe ridges and then slide sideways under this black plate, once the screwdriver is under, gently lift this plate and then push it backwards. It will slide all the way out. Once this is done, with some strong light you will be able to look through the hole and see a screw about 20 mm below. This is the horizontal adjustment screw. The second is behind the battery test button panel. On this model, it has two screws that hold this in place. When you remove these, be sure to hold the camera with the back of the camera downwards, if you don't, you may lose the little red battery test button inside the camea ;-) With this plate off, you will see to the top left, a screw mounted on a small post, this is the verticle alignment. So, set your camera focus to infinity, look through the viewfinder at something far away and then adjust these screws until everything lines up. Replace your panels, job done. Just so you know. iPodScreen003
It is not neccesary to remove the hard drive connector. I only did to show where the 6th screw is. Remove all 6 * screws. The screws holding the logic board in place require a Torx T-6 screwdriver head. I found a small set of "Husky" torx screw drivers ranging from T-4 up to T-15 in Home Depot, near, but not in the tool section. They were hanging on a wall just outside the tool section. The clerk in the tool section initially didn't think they had one that small (and they don't in the tool section), but remembered this kit hanging on the wall. There are interchangeable heads and the extra ones fit inside the barrel of the screwdriver. They work well.
