What we are Learning

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child. Kindergarten is an exciting year of development and exploration. It is a year of growing academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Imagine the kindergarten world: letters, numbers, stories, sharing, playing, glue, and glitter. Opportunities for learning and discovery are everywhere. Since learning is accomplished by doing and experiencing, please remember that often times this process is more important than the product.

You are the most important teacher in your child’s life and I am excited about partnering with you in the education of your child. It is vital to have great communication between the parent and teacher, so I look forward to keeping you informed of the positive strides your child will be making this year. With your involvement in and outside of the classroom, we can look forward to a fun, creative, and successful kindergarten year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have this year (see bottom of page for contact information).

In kindergarten students build a vital foundation of knowledge necessary to grow and flourish. Instruction will be engaging and creative, including practical useful knowledge and skills relevant to our current society. Skills essential for an individual to prosper such as reading, writing, math, and problem solving are some of our priorities. It is important to not only teach students the academic essentials, but to also develop a child’s set of social skills such as being respectful, responsible, trustworthy, caring, honest, and hardworking. Your child’s school experience helps determine their future. Together we can guide children in discovering how rewarding and enjoyable learning can be. This is going to be an amazing year!
