Yogurt Raita

Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Low-fat Yogurt.
  • 1/2 Cup milk or water (in case the yogurt tastes a bit sour, use milk to dilute the yogurt; if fresh, dilute with water).
  • 1/2 Cup peeled and finely chopped Cucumber.
  • 1/4 Cup finely chopped tomatoes.
  • 1/4 tsp grated ginger.
  • 1/4 tsp finely chopped Serrano or Jalapeno pepper (optional).
  • 1tsp grated carrot.
  • 1/4 tsp finely chopped cilantro.
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder.
  • Salt to taste.
Method:
  1. Add water or milk to yogurt and beat it with a fork to get a smooth creamy texture.
  2. Mix all the vegetables in the yogurt.
  3. Add salt and cumin powder.
  4. Garnish with Cilantro.
  5. Serve cold.
