Whole Birth Yoga while pregnant, followed by postpartum yoga practice and/or Mommy and Baby Pi-Yo Play can help:

Whole Birth Yoga

This class is open to non-members of Kaiser and is $90 for a six week session.  

2010 dates are as follows (each session is 8 weeks unless otherwise noted):

Whole Birth® Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal Yoga provides an opportunity to connect with your baby and to gain a greater understanding and awareness of your body as it changes throughout your pregnancy. 



By incorporating gentle postures, breath work, vocal-toning, and meditation, classes provide you with an opportunity for greater flexibility and relaxation in preparation for labor and childbirth. It will enhance your confidence, comfort, and awareness.  Prenatal Yoga provides relief from common discomforts experienced during pregnancy; low back and sciatic pain, insomnia, and swelling have all responded well to regular practice. Classes also provide a space to connect with other Mom's in your community through informative and supportive group discussions, where women are encouraged to share questions, concerns, and thoughts.

No previous yoga experience is necessary for prenatal yoga.




Mommy & Baby Pi-Yo Play® Classes (Pilates/Yoga)

Mommy & Baby Pi-Yo Play® classes combine a very unique blend of Pilates, yoga, and singing while you bond with your baby. You and your baby will play and learn as you sing nursery rhyme songs, explore movement, practice massage, explore new objects and observe other babies. Your baby will enjoy modeling your movements and listening to your voice. After every class, you will leave with a S.M.I.L.E!

Exercises and poses are performed both with and near your baby. Mommy & Baby Pi-Yo Play® classes are a unique, one-of-a-kind experiences that will bring you and your baby closer while assisting you in your recovery from childbirth.


Special Instructions: Bring water for you and a blanket for your baby. Yoga mats will be provided (feel free to bring your own if you would like). Open for babies 6 weeks – 9 months old and/or to crawling. Consult health care provider before beginning this class. No prior yoga or pilates experience required. A session will be canceled if less than 7 people enroll! This class has a maximum of 15 moms.
