| Artist Statement As artists, creating art is the way in which we collect our thoughts. For me it is the one moment where my thoughts and energy are totally focused without being distracted. It is both a form of meditation and relaxation. My pieces are a reflection of emotions or visions that can’t be expressed in words. The fluid nature of dye on silk allows me to express myself more freely. My pieces are not sketched, thought, or planned out before they are created. They are not meant to have some underlying meaning or to confuse the viewer. My pieces contain vibrant colors and intertwining shapes that will hopefully be both beautiful and interesting to view.
