RSCA (Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activities) program grant, California State University, East Bay.  Award received May, 2012.  Value: 2 WTUs (release time from assigned duties, equivalent of $2,500).  Purpose:  to conduct research into faculty perceptions of Wikipedia and what they tell students about the encyclopedia.

Graduation Initiative, 2010-2011, California State University, East Bay.  Award received June, 2010.  Value: $20,000.  Purpose:  to alleviate students' financial burden for textbooks in three phases.  Phase 1:  purchase e- and print books for course reserves ($10,000).  Phase 2:  provide financial incentive for selected faculty to create open source, ADA-compliant textbook ($5,000).  Phase 3:  participate in College Open Text Collaborative to explore innovative alternatives to traditional textbooks.

Faculty in Residence, "Scholarship of Teaching and Learning," California State University, East Bay. Award received 2010-2011.  Value: $3,000.  Purpose:  to work with faculty learning community members on their individual projects with a view to publication and to serve as a member of the advisory committee for the Director of Faculty Development.
 
Faculty Learning Community, "Scholarship of Teaching and Learning," California State University, East Bay.  Award received winter-spring 2010.  Value:  $200.  Purpose:  to explore and promote the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning to the faculty of California State University, East Bay.
 
Faculty Learning Community, "Teaching with Technology," California State University, East Bay. Award received 2009. Value: $500. Purpose: to explore technology tools (commercial, web, etc.) and their potential applications in the classroom; to discuss effective pedagogy related to teaching with technology and distance learning.

RSCA (Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activities) program grant, California State University, East Bay. Grant received 2006. Value: $1,800 plus 3 WTUs (equivalent of $3,500). Purpose: To complete research for the writing of a monograph to launch a larger project related to the conditions of academic women on university campuses in the United States.

RSCA (Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activities) program grant, California State University, East Bay. Award received 2007. Value: $8,580. Co-Principal Investigator with Kyzyl Fenno-Smith. Purpose: To purchase software and related equipment to research, experiment, and create various modules for the re-design of the LIBY 1210 information literacy course and other information literacy modules and to hire student staff assistance for the technical aspects of creating these modules.
