Aligon Puppets & Workshop's mission is to learn about puppetry, perform puppetry,  to share puppetry, and to change people's lives by bringing them happiness. 

If one person can take credit for the beginning of the beginning, it would be Nancy Rogan. She was a person who took the time out of her day to make a phone call. A very simple gesture. She shared that Jim Hammond has an awesome Halloween event and we needed to go. My Mom and I decided to go on an adventure to see what it was all about. I never imagined that in one night my world would change.  The house was decorated to the Halloween extremes. A HUGE, GIGANTIC  Ogre greeted everyone. He provided some laughs as we waited our turn to go inside... the unknown. It turns out that there were two skeleton puppets that interacted with all the trick or treaters. It was hilarious. I was laughing so hard. It is with no pride that I tell you I was laughing so hard I was crying- rolling on the floor laughing! Mom said we could stay and watch as the trick or treaters came in. When Jim found out that I opted on watching the puppets instead of trick or treating- he asked if I wanted to learn. It was soo cool. He helped me put on the puppet gear and showed me how to move the puppets. Yep- right then and there I had my first improv puppet show.  I knew right then and there that I wanted puppetry to be part of my life.
